Formula Gulf Academy drivers head to Brands Hatch

Formula Gulf Academy champs Cato Poulsen and Omar Gazzaz head off to Brands Hatch this weekend to continue their UK campaign. Following on from a successful winter season in the UAE both drivers showed fantastic promise at Rockingham Motor Speedway just a few weeks ago.

Both drivers fly in for these events and are hoping to continue to put their winter training to good use on the tough Brands Hatch GP circuit.

Gazzaz said just before heading off to the UK: “This is another new circuit for me and another challenge, I can't wait to face! I never dreamed to come race at the legendary Brands Hatch GP circuit. I hope to fully explore its limits and see how far I can push my own. A podium finish again is within reach, a win is optimistic but not impossible!”

Cato won the 2015/16 series in the UAE and recently completed a test with Campos Racing in an F3 car as part of this price for winning the series. He impressed at Rockingham with two wins and hope to do the same this weekend at Brands Hatch.

Cato remarked: “I am looking forward to driving the legendary Brands Hatch GP circuit. It will be a big challenge as the first time I drive it will be during qualifying.  I hope to have the pace to have a shot at winning, but this is also the biggest grid of competitors I have had. So it will be good fun and I expect to learn a lot.”
